Didn't get the memo

The answer you entered to the math problem is incorrect.

A couple weeks ago, we were at the Iowa Children's Museum. They had a display teaching about Indonesia. The majority of the display was more about Islam than Indonesia, but they did a fairly decent job of showing the Muslim influences on the culture. Given that Indonesia is predominantly Muslim, this was no surprise and was well presented. I saw a lot of artwork, images of children in Indonesia, but no invitations to pray to Allah. This is, after all, a secular museum.

But then something caught my eye that first encouraged me, then left me disturbed. They had a kiosk with descriptions of the four major religions in Indonesia: Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity. "Excellent," I thought, "It's not all just Islam on display." And then, I read the description of Christianity:

ICM Description of Christianity

Did you know that this is what Christianity believes? Apparently, I didn't get the memo. I always thought we are rewarded in heaven with eternal life because Jesus loved us all the way to the cross.

So no mention of the Trinity, no mention of grace, and no mention of the purpose of the cross.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but at the same time, it explains why people don't understand the exclusivity of Christianity, that faith in Christ alone saves. If the world thinks we're yet another works-oriented religion, then no, there's no difference, and we all worship the same God. But Christianity is all about what God has done for us in Christ and salvation by grace alone, apart from works of the Law.
