What's in a Name?

I've been thinking about pluralism and syncretism as I worked on this week's sermon on Joshua 24:14-18. A lot of people say, "It's all the same God, no matter what name you call Him. All roads lead to God and all that.
So here's my thought on that: in the throes of passion, if you called out someone else's name, would your spouse be upset? If you said, "Well, names aren't important; you're the only one for me," would that be good enough?
So why would we consider treating Jesus, our Bridegroom, any different? Why wouldn't He care if we're unfaithful to Him?
Thank God He still loves us even though we're unfaithful to Him!
