• Artist Paints Angelina Jolie as Virgin Mary at Wal-Mart

A North Carolina artist intrigued by the public obsession with celebrity has found herself feeding that obsession with a painting of actress Angelina Jolie as the Virgin Mary hovering over a Wal-Mart checkout line.

Kate Kretz depicts Angelina Jolie and her three children in her new painting. It reminds me of John Lennon's comment about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus.
