Christian Group Rebuffed by School Gets Court Review

The justices today said they will decide whether Hastings College of Law is infringing the group’s First Amendment rights by enforcing a campus-wide open-membership requirement. A lower court ruled in favor of the law school.The Christian Legal Society chapter requires voting members and officers to sign a statement of agreement with the group’s religious views. The group also excludes those who engage in homosexual activity.
